Reseña: This monograph begins with a brief summary of Project Exile. It continues by reviewing the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative, emphasizing the five PSN core elements. A variety of other, alternative strategies for con- trolling gun violence are then discussed. Practical, concrete experiences from projects in Texas, Colorado, King County (Seattle),Washington, and Baltimore, Maryland are used to illustrate the wealth of strategies that can be deployed in fighting gun violence and gun-related crimes. Next, some of the statistical data emanating from these programs is briefly reviewed. The monograph concludes with a discussion of some of the challenges faced by these programs, the lessons that can be distilled from these experiences, and a look to the future of gun violence reduction programs.
