dc.description.abstract Criminal justice systems are looking for what works in these days of limited resources and defendant populations who exhibit increasingly complex needs and behaviors. These Standards are a reflection of the best practices and case law which form the foundation for our work. We offer them as a guide in the development, implementation and nurturing of pretrial diversion/intervention programs as part of an effective array of responses to the challenges of today’s dynamic community justice environment.
