The correct exercise of judicial authoritynecessarily requires self-discipline. Otherwise,authority becomes oppression. This is thefundamental reason for which the Code isoffered. After much work by a number of judges, theCode was adopted by the Provincial JudgesAssociation of British Columbia at its AnnualGeneral Meeting September 18, 1976, andpursuant to the Provincial Court Act by theJudicial Council of the Court pursuant to Section13(e) of the Act December 3, 1976. |
