Indigenous Women’s Access to Justice in Latin America

Abstract

This paper examines barriers to access to justice for indigenous women in Latin America, both in state and non-state justice systems, such as community or regionally based indigenous systems. It also showcases efforts of indigenous women to secure their rights and challenge gender discrimination within the justice system.
