dc.description.abstract In March 1998, various agencies of the United Nations Organizations joined forces to launch the Campaign for Women’s Human Rights. In June 1998, as part of its contribution to the Campaign and in its capacity as afounding member, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched a regional project for Latin America and the Caribbean. Thus, one of the most significant outputs of the programme constituted the production of “National Reports on the Situation of Domestic Violence Against Women”. These National Reports compiled, systematized, analyzed and provided updated information on the situation of domestic violence against women for each country.
