Abstract

Drawing on the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative’s (ABA ROLI’s) 20 years of experience providing technical legal assistance to promote the rule of law in more than 70 countries worldwide, ABA ROLI has developed the Handbook of International Standards on Pretrial Detention Procedure to serve as a reference for members of the legal community interested in ensuring their country’s compliance with international norms and best practices for pretrial detention.
