Defrauding the American Dream

Abstract

This article explores trends of “predatory lending” in the United States, particularly related to the housing boom and subprime mortgages. This author explores discriminatory practices within existing California law which place Latin American immigrants in a precarious position where they are easily taken advantage of. This article uses these practices and personal experiences as a platform for change.
