Abstract

This sourcebook is a reference guide on mediation and conferenceprograms in the federal courts of appeals, programs that offer a wayfor courts to deal with increasing filings without increased demandfor circuit judgeships.1 The sourcebook responds to requests from theappellate courts for a detailed description of other circuits’ mediationand conference programs as well as more general information aboutwhat happens in other circuits. In addition, it provides a means forattorneys to learn more about these programs; providing this informationto attorneys helps the courts work more efficiently.
