dc.description.abstractToday, despite the many achievements in bringing about a more rational pretrial justice system – or, more likely, because of these achievements – the bail bond industry has renewed its efforts to discredit pretrial services programs. This Advocacy Brief was created to present the truth in light of recent media coverage and legislative attempts by this private industry to influence the nation’s criminal justice system.
