Resumen

This article explores the division of national juvenile justice policies between the “punitive model” and the “restorative model”. The United States is an example of a harsh punitive system, but Mexico has made efforts to create a juvenile justice system based on human rights and adolescent development research. This article compares the two systems, their approaches, and the context of their reforms.
