Reseña: Over the past decade, civil society has led a movement that encourages increased transparency and access to information in Latin America’s public institutions. The result has been a wave of laws on access to information and transparency that began in 2002. In some cases, judicial decisions and government decrees that offer greater guarantees for access to information have been passed in countries that have not adopted specific legislation in this area.
