This article analyzes compensatory contempt by tracing the legal issues associated with the remedy through the actual states in which the remedy would be sought. Part II examines the commencement of compensatory contempt. Part III focuses on issues arising from compensatory contempt hearings, including jury trials and burdens of proof. Part IV discusses the calculation of compensatory contempt awards and Part V compares the collection of a contempt award with the collection of a money judgment. |
