dc.description.abstract This paper addresses some of the difficulties that may arise when calling expert witnesses in a criminal trial. To illustrate some of these, reference will be made to expert evidence of DNA profiling because whilst this is still fairly new, it is now, probably, the most frequently relied upon field of expert evidence in criminal trials.Presentation made at the The 10th annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors held in Copenhagen, Denmark on August 28 to September 1, 2005.
