Reseña: The world business community uses arbitration to resolve commercial disputes arising in the global marketplace. Supportive laws are in place. The New York Convention of 1958 has been widely adopted, providing a favorable legislative climate. Arbitration clauses are enforced. International commercial arbitration awards are recognized by national courts in most parts of the world, even more than foreign court judgments.Arbitration institutions have been established in many countries to administer international cases. Many have entered into cooperative arrangements with the American Arbitration Association. These International Arbitration Rules have been developed to encourage greater use of such services. By providing for arbitration under these rules, parties can avoid the uncertainty of having to petition a local court to resolve procedural impasses. These rules are intended to provide effective arbitration services to world business through the use of administered arbitration. As the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) is a division of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), parties can arbitrate future disputes under these rules by inserting either of the following clauses into their contracts
