dc.description.abstract In the past, programs investing in legal reform and judicial reform have focused on building the state-sanctioned institutions which provide for the administration of justice and the rule of law. The audience that is too often left behind in reform projects - and one that must be shown why legal reform and judicial reform will benefit them - is civil society. Periods of legal reform and judicial reform are also good opportunities to examine the role of the lawyer. Who better than the architects of legal relationships to have some input into the design of new forms of conflict resolution? Judicial reform and legal reform is a great mechanism to promote sustainable development for us all.
