dc.description.abstract These standards for Pretrial Release Services are based upon the laws of New York State, which direct the use of pretrial release in accordance with the defendant’s likelihood of appearance in court and his/her capacity to satisfy other court-imposed conditions of release. These Standards define how pretrial services should operate in providing judges with an alternative to the use of money bail or other forms of financial surety to ensure the defendant’s appearance in court.
