dc.description.abstract Though the role of the rule of law in the reform process in Latin America has seen growth in the last decade or so, much more needs to be done. In spite of the growing consensus in policy circles that the rule of law is a prerequisite to economic and political stability, and a prerequisite to a sound investment climate and genuine democratic development, little attention is paid to rule of law issues in relation to the investments made.
