Abstract

Pretrial services programs gather the information that the judge is required by statute to consider in making a pretrial release decision. Such information includes residence and employment status, community ties, length of time in the community, history of drug, alcohol or mental health problems, criminal history, current status on probation, parole, or pretrial release, and history of appearance in court.
